Wyatt, a senior at MHS, spends his afternoons working with RC Electric where he is gaining valuable hands-on experience and learning skills that will serve him well after high school. Opportunities like this allow our students to explore career pathways while building real-world knowledge and experience.
We are proud of Wyatt and thankful to RC Electric for investing in our students and helping prepare them for the future!

Today, several of our students had the opportunity to attend the Fearless Females event at SCC, where they explored a variety of skilled trades through hands-on experiences. Throughout the day, students tried welding, operated heavy equipment, wired electrical components, and participated in several other interactive activities.
Thank you to SCC for hosting such a fantastic event and for providing our students with the chance to explore career pathways in the trades. Experiences like this help empower young women to discover new interests, build confidence, and see the many opportunities available to them. 👷♀️⚡🔧

Happy National FFA Week! Milan FFA has been celebrating all week with fun dress-up days and activities! On Monday, State FFA officer Lauren Argotte did workshops with some of our agriculture classes. In the evening, officers Drenden and Karina attended a Ripley County Farm Bureau meeting to share all the great things our chapter has been doing. Tuesday, FFA members showed our appreciation with a staff breakfast. Wednesday was Drive your Tactor to School Day! We're proud to be a part of the National FFA Organization and thankful for the support we receive as we continue to learn, lead and serve.
English 9 students recently wrapped up their Genius Hour projects, an opportunity to explore a personal passion or learn a brand-new skill. As part of the process, students conducted research, interviewed a mentor, and created a presentation showcasing what they learned—along with a final product to share with their classmates.
Project topics were as diverse as our students’ interests, including baking a variety of foods, learning to play a new song on the fiddle, exploring future career paths, competitive eating, and creating different forms of art.
One standout moment came when a student reached out to Garrett Wright, catcher for the Tennessee Volunteers baseball team, to request a mentor interview. Garrett responded with a personalized video answering the student’s questions, which was then shared with the class—an unforgettable real-world connection!
We are proud of our students for taking ownership of their learning, stepping outside their comfort zones, and discovering new talents along the way.

YUM! In Ms. Smith's horticulture class today, students got hands-on (and taste-tested!) learning about soil composition by creating edible soil profiles. Using crushed cookies, pudding, and gummy worms to represent different soil horizons, they explored how soil structure impacts plant health. Making real-world connections while having a little fun never gets old—this is experiential learning at its best!
