4th graders at MES were all given a book in honor of the late Roselyn McKittrick. They also learned a lesson about "making a difference" by listening to the story about starfish. Volunteers at Samaritan's Hope Chest then presented each student with a copy of the starfish story.

Mrs. Potter’s class recently completed many PLTW activities. They were able to learn about the structure and function of different body parts and organs. The students were also able to learn how doctors can repair broken bones.

Mrs. Kurtz's class just wrapped up a PLTW unit on structure and function! Students explored how structures are built and why some structures last while others don’t.

Mrs. Livorno completed the Animals and Algorithms PLTW this week . They worked on this PLTW Unit for two weeks. Students learned how to code and how to create a sequence in order to program specific items to do specific tasks. At the end of the unit, students used coding to create a sequence to program 2 characters to move to their beginning sound. The kiddos had a lot of fun with this!

This week MES did superhero day and 80's day in celebration of National School Counselors Week. We thank Sara Hill and Michelle McKittrick for all that they do for MES!

Just a reminder that it is a best practice to call in to the school if your child is going to be absent, even if you have exhausted your Parent Call In Days. For MES, please contact Mrs. Jodie Hooker. For MIS/MMS, please contact Mrs. Jodie Hooker. For MHS, please contact Mrs. Lynn Lillis.
If your child has a medical excuse, please make sure that they get turned in to the appropriate office. All schools have the ability to receive a fax from the medical provider if needed.
Thanks for your cooperation! If you have any questions, please contact the appropriate office.
