McKinney-Vento Information

Homeless students are those who lack a fixed, regular, adequate nighttime residence. This includes students who are:
  • sharing the housing due to loss of housing
  • living with economic hardship or similar reason
  • living in motels, hotels, abandoned buildings, trailer parks, or campgrounds due to lack of alternative adequate accommodations
  • living in emergency or transitional shelters
  • abandoned in hospitals.
You may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act.
